Throughout the seasons, we open the farm for U-Picks, workshops, children's programs, tours, community days, private experiences, special events, photography, and plenty of ideas we probably haven't dreamed up yet.
Some experiences are educational.
Some are creative.
Some are simply an excuse to slow down and enjoy being here.

All of them are another way for us to share the farm with you.

Maybe your child is very confidently making all of the decisions.

There really isn't a wrong way to fill your container.

Our U-Picks follow the flowers, which means availability depends on what is blooming and what the field can sustainably provide.

Some opportunities are scheduled public U-Picks.
Others may be offered privately for individuals, families, groups, or special occasions.
​
Either way, the experience is about more than taking flowers home.
It's about getting to be part of the harvest.

Private U-Picks can create a beautiful setting for friends, families, clubs, celebrations, small groups, or simply an afternoon in the flowers without a public U-Pick happening around you.

Depending on the season and availability, private experiences may be customized around the group and what's happening on the farm.

Workshops

We believe one of the best ways to learn something is to actually do it.

Our farm workshops bring people together to create, learn, ask questions, get their hands involved, and leave knowing something they didn't know when they arrived.

Some workshops begin in the flower field.
Others begin in the herb garden, vegetable garden, or around a table covered in supplies.
​
Topics change with the seasons because the farm itself helps determine what we're teaching.
​
You don't need experience.
You don't need to consider yourself creative.
And you definitely don't need to already know what you're doing.

Let It Bloom
From the field to the vase.
​
Let It Bloom is our signature floral design workshop.
​
We take the intimidation out of arranging flowers and teach you how to look at shape, movement, texture, color, and the flowers in front of you a little differently.
​
You'll work with seasonal blooms while learning practical design techniques you can use again at home.
​
No floral-design experience required.
No perfection expected.
​
Flowers aren't particularly interested in following rules anyway.
Come create something beautiful and enjoy the process.
Harvest & Home

Harvest & Home takes the things growing around us and asks a simple question:
What can we do with this?
​
Throughout the seasons, workshops may explore herbs, edible flowers, pesto, salsa, pickling, preserving, pressed flowers, dried flowers, simmer pots, and other practical ways to use the harvest.
​
These aren't meant to be one-and-done craft classes.
We want you to understand enough about what you're doing that you can take the skill home and try it again.

Little Hands Belong On Farms
Kids on the Farm
​
Children don't need agriculture explained only through a book.
​
They can touch the soil.
Plant the seed.
Watch the bee.
Pull the carrot.
Smell the herb.
Cut the flower.
Ask approximately 847 questions.

And discover for themselves how something grows.
​
We intentionally create opportunities for children to experience agriculture through hands-on learning, exploration, creativity, and real farm activities.

Some are structured programs.
Others happen through tours, field trips, workshops, U-Picks, and special farm events.
​
Either way, muddy hands are welcome.
Little Bloomers
Big discoveries for little growers.
​
Created for ages 2–7, Little Bloomers introduces young children to flowers, food, gardens, pollinators, and farm life through age-appropriate hands-on experiences.
​
They may plant.
Harvest.
Explore.
Create.
Observe.
Play.
​
And begin making connections between the natural world and the things they see around them every day.
​
The goal isn't to turn preschoolers into professional farmers.
Although some of them seem pretty determined.
​
It's to give them somewhere safe and encouraging to be curious.
Junior Flower Farmers
Real farm. Real learning.

For ages 8–12, Junior Flower Farmers takes farm education a little deeper.
​
Older children are ready to understand more of the why behind what happens here—and they're capable of doing more themselves.
​
Activities may explore flowers, vegetables, herbs, soil, pollinators, plant life cycles, harvesting, tools, weather, agriculture, and the work required to grow something successfully.
​
Despite the name, Junior Flower Farmers isn't only about flowers.
It's about helping children understand a farm by participating in one.

Farm tours and field trips give schools, homeschool groups, clubs, organizations, families, and other groups the opportunity to experience agriculture firsthand.

Our guided farm tours invite you beyond the farm stand and into the fields and gardens for a closer look at what we grow, how we grow it, and why we do things the way we do.

Led by Erica, each tour is an opportunity to walk the farm, ask questions, and experience agriculture firsthand.
​
Depending on the season, we may explore specialty cut flower production, vegetable growing, culinary herbs, soil health, regenerative growing practices, pollinators, seasonality, harvesting, crop planning, U-Pick production, pumpkins and other seasonal crops, and the everyday realities of running a small diversified farm.
​
And because we're touring a working farm rather than a museum, no two visits are exactly the same.
​
What we're planting, harvesting, battling, celebrating, experimenting with, or learning from changes throughout the season.
​
You don't need farming or gardening experience to join us.
​
Come because you grow your own garden.

Dinner is nice.
But sometimes it's fun to do something together that you haven't done a hundred times before.

Date Night in Bloom brings couples to the farm for an experience built around flowers, connection, and time together.

Depending on the event, the evening may include time in the flower field, creating something together, or other seasonal touches inspired by what's happening around the farm.

It's relaxed.

And nobody has to decide which streaming service to stare at for 20 minutes.

Our DIY Flower Bar gives guests the opportunity to choose from farm-fresh seasonal stems and create something themselves.

Flower Bars can be a fun addition to showers, parties, private gatherings, community events, business events, and other celebrations.
​
Depending on the offering, flowers may be enjoyed here at the farm or prepared for an event elsewhere.
​
The flowers change with the season.
The combinations are up to your guests.

And somehow everyone manages to become very serious about choosing the perfect stem.

Sometimes you don't need us to design the flowers.
You just need the flowers.

Buckets of Blooms are filled with a seasonal mix of farm-grown flowers and foliage for people who want to create their own arrangements.

They're a natural fit for:

DIY weddings.
Table arrangements.
Church or community gatherings.
Creative projects.
Or the person who simply wants an unreasonable number of flowers in the house.

Community Farm Days

Community doesn't only happen when something is being sold.

Sometimes it happens while pulling weeds.

Community Farm Days are opportunities for people who want to volunteer, learn, work alongside us, and experience another side of the farm.

These aren't polished farm tours.
They're opportunities to participate.

And hopefully we'll accomplish something together that leaves the farm a little better than we found it.

Professional photography requires advance booking so we can protect the farm, manage access, and make sure photographers and guests have the experience they're expecting.

Photography has grown into an important part of how people experience this place, so we've given it a home of its own.

Not everything we do needs to happen every week—or even every year.

Some of our favorite farm experiences are the ones created simply because the season gave us a good reason to gather.
Special events may be inspired by flowers, harvests, holidays, agriculture, food, families, community, or one of those ideas Erica probably had while mowing.

They may look different from year to year.
That's intentional.

We want enough structure for you to know what Wendland Family Farm is about without planning every bit of joy three years in advance.

Because many of our experiences happen outdoors and depend on living crops, availability, timing, locations within the farm, and activities may change with the season.
