Our Swiss Chard Starts are grown from seed and cared for on the farm until they're ready to head home to your garden. With colorful stems, large leafy greens, and a long harvest season, Swiss chard is both beautiful in the garden and useful in the kitchen.

Harvest leaves throughout the season for sautés, soups, pastas, egg dishes, fresh baby greens, and more.

Varieties may include:

Green-stemmed chard • red chard • rainbow chard • colorful specialty varieties

Growing at Home

Swiss chard grows well in full sun and can also tolerate some light shade.

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and water consistently throughout the growing season.

Rather than harvesting the entire plant at once, remove the larger outer leaves as you need them while allowing the smaller center leaves to continue growing.

Regular harvesting encourages continued production and can provide fresh greens over a long portion of the growing season.
