Our Cabbage Starts are grown from seed and cared for on the farm until they're ready to head home to your garden. A classic cool-season crop, cabbage is a wonderful choice for spring gardens and can provide a substantial harvest from a relatively small garden space.
 
Enjoy your homegrown cabbage fresh in slaws and salads, sautéed or roasted, added to soups and hearty meals, or preserved as sauerkraut and other fermented favorites.

Growing at Home
Cabbage is a cool-season vegetable that grows best during the milder temperatures of spring and fall.
 
Plant in a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil and give each plant enough room for its head to develop.
 
Water consistently throughout the growing season. Maintaining even moisture is especially important as cabbage heads begin forming.
 
Harvest when the head feels firm and has reached a usable size for the variety you're growing.
