Our Brussels Sprout Starts are grown from seed and cared for on the farm until they're ready to head home to your garden. Brussels sprouts are a long-season, cool-weather crop that rewards a little patience with stalks covered in small, tightly formed sprouts.
Roast them, sauté them, shred them into salads, add them to hearty fall meals, or simply enjoy the satisfaction of growing this unique vegetable yourself.
We may grow several Brussels sprout varieties based on flavor, performance, maturity, and suitability for our Iowa growing conditions.
Specific varieties will be listed as options when available.
Growing at Home
Brussels sprouts prefer full sun, fertile soil, and consistent moisture.
Give plants plenty of room—they mature into tall, substantial plants and remain in the garden much longer than many other vegetables.
Brussels sprouts appreciate cooler weather as they mature, making them a crop you'll plant with the later harvest in mind.
Sprouts develop along the main stalk and can be harvested individually from the bottom upward as they become firm and reach a usable size.
