Make It Your Own
This is your garden, so choose varieties that fit the way your family eats.
Mix slicing and cherry tomatoes. Grow a sweet pepper alongside a jalapeño. Choose one slicing cucumber and one for pickling. Pick zucchini or yellow squash, choose your favorite winter squash and melon, and finish the garden with two herbs you'll actually use.
Available varieties change each season according to what we're growing on the farm.
Growing at Home
This collection is intended for gardeners with enough space for several larger, warm-season plants.
Choose a sunny garden location with fertile, well-drained soil and plant after the danger of frost has passed and temperatures have warmed.
Tomatoes may require cages or stakes. Cucumbers can be trellised or allowed to spread. Summer squash develops into a substantial plant, while winter squash and melon vines require considerably more room to roam.
Before planting, take a little time to plan where each crop will mature rather than spacing everything according to the size of the starts when you bring them home.
