A tender, faith-rooted memoir from Wendland Family Farm — for the women who sow hope, rise through storms, and bloom anyway. Plant with love, harvest with joy, and watch life bloom in unexpected ways.

A story grown in the soil of hope—where small beginnings become beautiful things.

About the Book

This book began in the quiet rows of an old pumpkin patch—long before a dream became a flower farm. It’s a story about the timid first seeds we plant, the storms that try to undo us, and the holy, ordinary moments that become our becoming.

The Bloom That Built Me invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and step into a journey rooted in faith, family, and the tender courage it takes to begin—especially when beginnings feel small.

What readers will find inside:

  • A heartfelt Opening Letter that welcomes you into Erica’s field and story

  • 10 reflective chapters on resilience, surrender, family, and grace

  • Rooted-in-the-soil lessons at the end of each chapter

  • Gorgeous photography from the farm woven throughout

  • Encouragement for dreamers, doers, and women standing at the edge of a beginning

A glimpse into the pages where faith, flowers, and quiet courage come alive.

About the Author

Where a farmer’s hands, a mother’s heart, and a storyteller’s voice come beautifully together.

Erica Wendland is the heart behind Wendland Family Farm—a small-town flower farm rooted in faith, family, and the quiet power of small beginnings.

From a tiny pumpkin patch to rows of blooms, workshops, markets, and a community of women who gather to grow both flowers and courage, Erica has built a place where beauty is both grown and given away.

She lives and farms in West Point, Iowa, alongside her husband and their two children—Oliver and Harper—where faith and flowers shape the rhythm of their life and work.
