Today I am sharing "A Guide to Sourdough Starter" - I created this as an all-inclusive tool for you to use to ensure your sourdough starter is thriving!

  • Sourdough has an enticing, tangy, flavor.


  • Sourdough is a term that refers to both bread and the starter used to make it. The sourdough starter begins with a combination of flour and water.


  • When flour is mixed with liquid, lactobacilli bacteria, and wild yeast - the flour and your environment start working together. This process generates the by-products that cause bread to rise and its rich flavor.


  • The signature flavor comes from the friendly bacteria and yeast, which produces flavorful lactic and acetic acid in rising bread dough.


  • Create your own starter and experience how it becomes part of the family - a living part of your home that thrives on flour, water, and lots of love (and grace). If you are gluten-free (welcome to the club!) you can create your very own gluten-free sourdough starter. However, many with IBS, gluten sensitivity, or gluten intolerance can handle sourdough…


Today I am sharing my kid's favorite recipe - Sourdough Discard Pancakes! They beg for these almost daily! Have fun with add-ins like chocolate chips + blueberries! Enjoy!
