When is U-Pick season?

Our U-Pick season typically runs 12–14 weeks, beginning in early summer and lasting through early fall. Exact opening dates depend on the weather and bloom conditions—follow us on social media for the latest updates!

How much does it cost?

• Adult U-Pick Ticket: $25 per session

• Kiddie U-Pick Ticket: $15 per session

• U-Pick Bucket Ticket: $75

• Seasonal Adult Package: $250 (12–14 sessions, save $50!)

• Adult + Child Package: $350

• Family Package (2 Adults + 2 Children): $700

How does the U-Pick work?

Simply arrive during our U-Pick hours, check in at the Farm Stand, and we’ll provide you with a cup, clippers, and tips for harvesting your flowers. Then, wander the rows, explore the colors, and pick your perfect bouquet!

What should I bring?

We recommend:

• Comfortable shoes for walking in grassy or uneven areas

• Sunscreen, hat, and water bottle

• Your camera—there’s beauty in every direction!

How long does a visit take?

Most guests spend about 60–90 minutes picking flowers, exploring the fields, and enjoying the farm atmosphere.

Can kids come?

Absolutely! Children are welcome at U-Picks. We offer Adult + Child and Family Packages for those who want to enjoy the experience together. We just ask that children are supervised while in the flower fields.

Can I bring my own clippers or bucket?

We provide clean clippers and cups for your use, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. *If purchasing a bucket ticket you must bring your own bucket!

Can I take photos during my U-Pick?

Of course! We love seeing you capture the beauty of the fields. Please tag us on social media @wendlandfamilyfarm

If you’re a photographer or planning a styled photo session, please book a Photography Session through our website instead of a standard U-Pick ticket.

What happens if it rains?

U-Picks may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of heavy rain or unsafe conditions. We’ll post updates on our Facebook and Instagram pages, so please check before visiting on stormy days.

Are refunds available?

Because spots are limited and flowers are seasonal, tickets and packages are non-refundable. However, if we must cancel a U-Pick due to weather, we’ll provide alternate dates or credit toward another session.

Can I gift a U-Pick experience?

Yes! U-Pick gift certificates make wonderful presents for birthdays, Mother’s Day, and more. 

Each bouquet is hand-picked to highlight the best blooms of the season. Follow these simple steps to make your flowers last as long as possible and enjoy their beauty every day.

1. Prep Your Flowers

• Strip off any leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent bacteria growth.

• Give each stem a fresh diagonal cut (about 1/2 inch) using clean scissors or pruning shears. This opens the stems to absorb water more efficiently.

2. Choose the Right Vase (or jar!)

• Pick a vase large enough to give stems room to breathe.

• Clean the vase thoroughly to avoid bacteria that shortens flower life.

• Fill with fresh, cool water and add floral preservative (recommended).

3. Daily Flower Care

• Change the water every 1-2 days.

• Trim stems about 1/4 inch each time you change the water.

• Remove any wilted or browning flowers promptly — this keeps the remaining blooms healthy.

4. Placement Tips

• Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, heat vents, and fruit bowls.

• A cool spot in your home helps flowers last longer.

• Avoid drafts from fans or open windows.

5. Bonus Tips for Longevity

• A little sugar or floral preservative in the water (1 tsp per cup) can nourish blooms.

• A drop of bleach or a floral preservative can slow bacteria growth.

• Mist delicate petals with water occasionally for extra freshness.

By joining a Wendland Family Farm Seasonal U-Pick Package (for yourself or as a gift), you agree to the following. We like to keep things simple, honest, and full of farm-love—so here’s what you need to know:

Your Spot in the U-Pick Season

When you sign up and purchase a Seasonal U-Pick Package, your spot is officially reserved for the 2026 U-Pick season. Because our flowers and field access are planned and planted months in advance, packages are non-refundable once purchased.

Can’t use your package or need to miss a week? You’re welcome to send a friend or family member in your place—they’ll love you for it!

If you’re gifting a U-Pick Package, you’ll receive an email with instructions for how your recipient can redeem their spot.

Seasonal U-Pick Access

Your Seasonal Package includes 12–14 weeks of U-Pick sessions during the 2026 growing season. Exact dates depend on Mother Nature—weather and bloom timing can shift things a bit! We’ll notify you via email when U-Pick sessions are ready to begin and keep you updated throughout the season.

It’s your job to check your inbox (and spam/promotions folders) and to add wendlandfamilyfarm@gmail.com to your contacts so you don’t miss updates.

If you don’t hear from us two weeks before the season starts, please reach out—we’ve got you covered!

How U-Pick Works

Each visit, you’ll check in at the farm stand during designated U-Pick hours. We’ll provide your cup, clippers, and friendly guidance for selecting blooms.

You can visit any 12-14 weeks throughout the season that works for your schedule.

If you miss a week, that session isn’t transferable or refundable—but you can always share your package with a friend for that visit.

The Rewards & Risks of Farming

Farming is full of beauty and surprises!

Rewards: Endless rows of colorful blooms, sunshine, and fresh air.

Risks: Weather, pests, or other natural events may impact bloom quality or availability.

We do everything possible to keep the flowers thriving, but sometimes nature has her own plans. In rare cases of weather-related cancellations, we’ll do our best to offer an alternate U-Pick date.

Safety & Farm Guidelines

Please respect the fields, flowers, and farm spaces. Children must be supervised at all times. Stay within designated U-Pick areas, follow instructions from staff, and be kind to the blooms—so everyone can enjoy them!
