Our Policies

Our bunnies mean the world to us, we want to ensure they go to the very best homes and get all the love they deserve.

CARE

Baby bunnies in particular are sensitive to stress and dietary changes. Minimizing stress (other pets, rough play, loud noises, etc.), washing hands, cages, and food dishes frequently, and keeping your bunny on a good quality pellet along with high quality hay are all important, especially the first few months home. If you are not willing to care properly for your bunny, please do not contact us, we provide high quality care to our bunnies and expect the same for their new families. We will provide a Bunny Care Guide to all new owners at pick up.

PURCHASING A BUNNY

Bunnies that are available and bunnies that will be available soon will be listed on our website. Please message me if you find one that you would like to reserve. I will send you a Venmo or PayPal link so that a deposit can be made. Once I receive the deposit, I will mark your bunny as Reserved. When the time comes for your bunny to go home, the remaining balance can be paid in cash at the time of pick up. Bunnies not picked up within 7 days of their “ready to go” date, will be re-listed for sale. No refund on deposit.

PAYMENT

A deposit may be paid through Venmo or PayPal in order to reserve a bunny. The remaining balance is to be paid in full with cash at pickup (please bring the exact amount). We do not accept checks or credit cards.

SALES POLICY

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit of your bunny’s full purchase price to reserve it. Please do not send money before confirming the bunny you want is available. No bunny will be held without a deposit. The remaining balance is due on pick up.

All sales are final. No refunds, replacements or exchanges.

Ensure you have a plan in place to pick up your bunny before you place the deposit. We will not hold a bunny past the age of 8 weeks unless otherwise arranged. Any bunny that is not picked up within 7 days of its “ready to go” date will be re-listed for sale. You will forfeit any money paid and the bunny will go back up for sale.

Wendland Family Farm reserves the right to cancel a sale at our discretion at any time, without explanation, before the bunny goes home, with full refund.

If you choose to forfeit the sale for any reason, your deposits/payments are forfeited.

Occasionally, the bunny you choose may not make it to 8 weeks of age. This does not happen often, but it can happen. If this does happen, you can either choose another available bunny of the same value or we will return your deposit to you.

We really care about our animals. We want them to be happy in their new homes and we want you to be happy with your new pet. Please educate yourself and understand the needs of the animal before purchasing them. We offer a lifetime of support. REFUND POLICY

Please fully examine your bunny before you complete your purchase. We do our best to accurately assess gender, color, and quality, but you are responsible for approving the rabbit before completing the purchase. If any bunny would become sick or die while in our care, we will refund the deposit.

HEALTH GUARANTEE

I do not guarantee any rabbit’s future breeding abilities or the look of your rabbit when fully grown. There are no health guarantees, and all bunnies are sold as is. To the best of my knowledge at the time you pick up your bunny, they are in good health and temperament. After the bunny leaves our care, you are responsible for its health and well-being. So fully examine your bunny before completing your purchase. No vet bills will be reimbursed, under any circumstances.

After the sale, we will not be held liable for any accidents, injuries or illness, as once your bunny leaves our rabbitry, we cannot control how the rabbit is handled or what it is exposed to. Understand there will always be risks when purchasing live animals even when all of our rabbits are healthy with no known issues to date. If you are no longer able to care for your rabbit, we are more than happy to help you rehome it.

We sex our bunnies between 4-6 weeks of age. However, mistakes can be made due to the small size and differences in how some bunnies develop. While we are generally accurate, please check the sex of your bunny before you leave, as once the bunny leaves our care no refund or exchange will be given because of wrong sex.

PICK UP

Please plan on picking up your new bunny at our location in Southeast Iowa. Please bring a pet carrier for your bunny with Timothy Hay in order to transport home – munching on timothy hay will help to relieve stress during the car ride home.

Please be on time for your appointment! If you are unable to make your appointment, please keep us updated! We will hold a bunny for 7 days after your original pick up date/time, then your deposits/payments are forfeited, and we will resell or retain the bunny.

We are a closed rabbitry and will not allow visitors. We do this to protect our herd, as there are many illnesses and viruses that can spread through a herd rapidly and we will take no risks when it comes to our babies.

4H MEMBERS

Along with responsibility and showmanship skills, you can take advantage of many benefits of raising show rabbits. Please keep in mind that if you plan on owning a show quality rabbit to show strictly in 4-H, your rabbit is still a pet and deserves care and respect year-round. Before committing to a rabbit, please be sure you will love and care for them each and every day of the year. Your rabbit should be loved, serve as a companion, and provide happiness to you whether they place in a show or not.

PEDIGREE

Bunnies will come with birth & adoption certificates. Bunnies will come with a full pedigree at pick up upon request.

BREEDERS

If you are planning on breeding one of our rabbits, you must disclose this. We want to know who is breeding our lines. If you breed our rabbit without disclosing this, you will be put on our do not sell list. Please request a pedigree at the time of deposit, otherwise a pedigree will not be issued.

TRANSPORT

We do not use any transport. You will need to pick up your bunny.

VISITS TO RABBITRY

We do not allow visitors to our rabbitry to protect them from the risk of disease or injury.
